You may feel it's incredible but this art work is all made of hands!! The panel is made by the technique of making Tatami mat (Japanese straw flooring mat). The back side is made of beautiful Fusuma paper. (Fusuma is Japanese paper-covered sliding door. )
This is fabric art and the weight is very light, so you can manage to decorate it easily anywhere you would like to place on.
The design is TUMABIKI by Takehisa Yumeji (1884-1934) who was a very popular Japanese poet and Nihonga painter. Especially he created so many Bijinga. Bijin means beautiful ladies and Hanakage is one of popular his works.
